Wired for Health: Substance Misuse
Wired for Health: Substance Misuse, aims to provide accurate and engaging information on health issues, initiatives and national health policies for teachers and learners in the UK. Basic information on drugs and their use is followed by a section on the teaching requirements of the National Curriculum as they relate to drugs education. A selection of links to drug education websites are also provided.

D2-k
D2-k, developed by Health Promotion England, this website aims to provide information on drugs for young people aged 14-16. Basic information on each of the main drug types is provided, with sections specifically focusing on effects, the law and risks of each drug.

Wotz da factz
Wotz da factz is a website whose aims are to promote drug awareness for young people. It has information on important issues like drugs and schools, drugs and the law, being “spiked up”, hard drugs, first aid, tobacco and alcohol and there’s even a special section for parents. It was developed by Barnet Primary Care Trust in consultation with young people, help groups, health professionals and legal advisors. The site was produced by OFP - a multimedia production company who has produced various videos on subjects such as smoking cessation, which have been used by Health Authorities across the UK.

Talk to Frank
Talk to Frank incorporates a phone line, 0800 776600 and a website. FRANK builds on the work of the National Drugs Helpline and provides free, confidential drugs information and advice 24 hours a day to anyone that needs it. The key purpose of the campaign is to ensure that young people understand the risks and dangers of drugs and know where to go for advice and help. It also aims to provide parents with the confidence and knowledge to talk to their children about drugs.

Re-solv
Re-solv deals with all aspects of solvent and volatile substance abuse, it has a special focus on the needs of young people.

Crew 2000
Crew 2000, an Edinburgh based group of young people, club goers and others committed to giving accurate and credible information to young people about drugs and related issues. Online information includes sections on drugs and driving, women and drug use, and safer dancing guidelines.

Alcohol Concern
Alcohol Concern is the national agency on alcohol misuse. They work to reduce the incidence and costs of alcohol-related harm and to increase the range and quality of services available to people with alcohol-related problems. The site contains information about the work of Alcohol Concern, copies of our press releases, factsheets and other publications as well as news about what is happening in the alcohol field and links to useful websites. The site also allows users to search our library database and services directory and order publications from our on-line bookshop

Adfam
Adfam is a national charity working with families affected by drugs and alcohol. They provide a range of publications and resources for families about substances and criminal justice and operate an online message board and database of local support groups that helps families hear about and talk to people who understand their situation. Adfam also runs direct support services at London prisons for families of inmates that need to talk about prison and drugs.
